I don’t know shit about politics. I generally get my news from The Daily Show or Weekend Update on SNL. I don’t have too many opinions on domestic or foreign policy, other than doing whatever is best to keep me alive. If I were to really sit down and look at “the issues,” I’d call myself a democrat, especially having my MSW. I think it’s part of a Social Worker’s genetics to side democratically. Perhaps it has to do with the whole social justice/civil rights/equality that I believe in.
Regardless of my personal political views, or lack there of, today, June 26, 2015 was a tremendous day in our nation’s history. The United States Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage is a guaranteed constitutional right across all 50 states.
