• When In Doubt, Get Something With Cheese

11226692_1596057667298870_1325057367_nDid you ever have that feeling where you’re sort of hungry, but not and it’s “dinnertime” so you feel pressured to decide what to eat, but nothing actually sounds appealing because you can’t actually figure out what you want to eat?  Of course you have!  You’re a human! (Is it presumptuous to assume that all of my readers are humans?  I don’t think we are that far enough into the future yet where robots are reading blog posts.)  Well, I’m completely stuck right now.  And I literally me right now, as in while I am physically typing these letters, not as if I am writing this in the present tense, though it happened already.  Have I lost you you?

That’s another thing.  When I get that “hungry/time-pressure/irritable” feeling my brain also gets a little jumbled up.  It’s like sentences are a major railway crossing in my brain and someone switched the course of the tracks so that none of the trains (sentences) are following the right path.  The question, I imagine, that is on everybody’s mind is, “how do we fix this mess?”

Here is a basic run down of the thought process behind “Jamie’s Indecisive Dinner Options.”

    • “What do you want for dinner?”

    • “I don’t know.”

    • “Well think of something.”

    • “Something with cheese.”

    • “Everything you eat has cheese in it.”

    • “That’s not true, Japanese food doesn’t have cheese.”

    • “Okay, so you don’t want Japanese food.”

    • “Hmm, I don’t know.  Maybe.”

    • “Jamie, you’re killing me.  I’m starving.”

    • “But Jamie, I’m not really that hungry and I don’t know what I want.”

    • “Just get a burger or grilled cheese or ice cream.”

    • “Yummmm.  Where should I get it from?”

    • “What the fuck?!  Why is this such a difficult decision?”

I hope you all enjoyed that glimpse into my inner psyche.  I also hope I didn’t scare anyone off!  But let’s all be honest with ourselves for a second.  Haven’t we all had this conversation in our heads!  Well, you probably don’t call yourself Jamie when you’re talking to yourself (or maybe you do, in which case, no judgement!).

Now that I’ve gone on a horrendous tangent about absolutely nothing, I’d like to close out this post by informing all of you that I have not made any progress towards deciding what I would like to eat for dinner this evening.  With that said, I am going to take a seat on the couch, put my feet up, and stare at my computer screen until I can’t take it anymore and most likely end up with a grilled cheese sandwich and french fries.  The lesson to be learned here is this, “when in doubt, get something with cheese.”

I’ll probably have grilled cheese and tomato for dinner this eve.
